The Master’s degree program in Church Administration and Leadership is designed to answer the call to provide the necessary tools to engage in productive and effective leadership. This Master’s program prepares Conference, Union, Division, hospital, and school administrators, among others, that desire to become leaders in the field of Church administration, in order to work at a higher level of performance and effectiveness in their respective positions or responsibilities.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be accepted to this program, each applicant needs to follow the specific procedure that has been established and approved by the HFU Administration. All applicants must submit the following documents as part of the admission process:

  1. Admission Form: Submit a completed (and duly filled) application to the Admission and Records office at admissions@hfu.edu. To request the Admission Form please contact the HFU Admissions and Records office. You can download the Admission Form from our website.

  2. Admission fee payment: A nonrefundable application processing fee of $50.00 USD. Consult Payment Methods.
  3. Copy of Diploma: Every applicant must send a copy of their Bachelor’s degree together with the Admission Form.
  4. Official/Original Credit Transcript (Grades Certification): The candidate will be responsible for requesting the official transcript of the colleges or universities where he/she previously studied. These transcripts should be sent by the issuing institution sealed to the Admission and Records Office within 60 days. It should be sent directly to:

The transcript of the Bachelor, Master or Associate degree must be mailed in an envelope sealed by the university of origin. If the transcript is not received within the stipulated time, the Admissions Committee will review each individual case and determine whether the student should remain in waiting status (no permission to take additional courses) until the requested documents are received or to consider if you can continue taking courses until a further extension period is met. In case of granting a further extension of time, this will be determined by the Admissions Committee.

This extension is intended to provide additional time for the receipt of the requested documents. To require additional time, the applicant must request, by writing, an extension of time to the Admissions Office for evaluation. When we receive the transcript, the student will be notified via email. To enter the program you must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 points on a scale of 4.00 points. If you have a lower average you should send a letter explaining the reason why you should be accepted with that average.

IMPORTANT:
All transcripts and other educational documents submitted must be official. If a document or a transcript is not in English or Spanish, a certified translation must accompany it with an Apostille stamp. Notarized or certified true-copy-of-original certificates or educational documents issued by a non-US institution may be accepted.

If a transcript contains a different name from the one that appears in the documentation submitted to HFU, it is required to submit an affidavit or a notarized sworn statement indicating that both names belong to the same person. In that document, indicate which of the names should be used in the graduation documentation.

  1. Statement of Purpose: The applicants must write an essay or document (between 350 to 500 words) that includes the following aspects and any other relevant information:

    1. A brief overview of the significant factors in childhood, family and academic life.
    2. A brief statement of professional and personal leadership goals.
    3. The main reasons for desiring to pursue graduate education.
  1. Recommendations: Recommendation Forms will be sent by HFU to the person indicated by you in the admission form. Two letters of recommendations are required. They must be provided by:
    1. A pastor/religious minister who is well acquainted to the student and can testify to the applicant’s character and spiritual commitment.
    2. Employer or teacher / current or former teacher who is able to assess the strenghts and weaknesses of the applicant. In case of self-employed or special cases, you must contact the Admission and Records Office for more information.
    3. Letter from the sponsoring institution (only applicants that have scholarships or are sponsored by an institution).

IMPORTANT:
You must have a minimum knowledge of technology. If one (1) year passes by without completing the admission process, these documents will have to be re-submitted. All documents submitted to HFU, including the original transcripts, become property of Herbert Fletcher University.

According to Section 9.4 of Regulation for Licensing of Higher Education institutions in Puerto Rico, No. 8265 (2012) the Licensing and Accrediting Area of the Puerto Rico Council on Education certifies that Herbert Fletcher University is exempt of license for offering programs leading to religious degrees whose purpose is to train students for obtaining jobs or to serve in occupations on the religion or sect to which they are oriented.
